Abstract

Positive psychology frequently views forgiveness as a character trait and a virtue that anyone seeking a greater sense of well-being should strive to cultivate. Forgiveness is crucial for the emotional health of people who have suffered abuse. Instead of keeping them emotionally invested in injustice or trauma, it moves individuals along. This study focuses on Forgiveness as a process, decision-based forgiveness, cognitive forgiveness, emotional forgiveness, the psychology of forgiveness, and the benefits of forgiveness. This paper describes the advantages of practicing forgiveness, forgiveness therapy, Four Steps to Forgiveness (A powerful way to change life for the better), and techniques to help the clients (Enright model Intervention, REACH model, Forgiveness letter).
